As 2024 comes to a close, we at Sober Not Subtle find ourselves overwhelmed with gratitude. This past year has been a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from community. Your support, contributions, and encouragement have fueled our mission to raise awareness about mental health and substance use disorder (SUD). Whether you’ve shared your story, purchased our merch, subscribed to our site, followed our socials, or simply cheered us on from the sidelines, we see you—and we thank you.
This year, we’ve been inspired by the countless voices that have joined us in breaking down the stigma surrounding SUD and mental health. Sharing personal stories is at the heart of what we do because it helps people feel seen, understood, and less alone. As someone in recovery myself, I know firsthand how transformative it is to hear someone say, “Me too.” That simple connection can open the door to hope and healing.
Looking ahead to 2025, there are big things to come at Sober Not Subtle. We’re more excited than ever to continue making a difference. One of the ways we do that is through our commitment to giving back. Thanks to your support of our merch, we’ve been able to donate to the Family and Children’s Association (FCA), a nonprofit organization that has been helping the most vulnerable families on Long Island for 140 years. FCA’s incredible work supports individuals and families in overcoming life’s challenges, including mental health struggles and SUD, and we’re honored to play a small part in their mission.
By wearing our merch, you’re not just supporting this cause—you’re also helping to create awareness and fight the stigma surrounding SUD and mental health. Together, we’re sending a powerful message: recovery is possible, and no one should ever feel ashamed or afraid to ask for help.
To anyone out there navigating recovery, struggling with mental health, or supporting a loved one through their journey: you are not alone. Your story matters. Your struggles do not define you. And there is always hope for a better tomorrow. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. It’s a step toward the freedom, peace, and joy you deserve.
As we step into the new year, let’s continue to stand together, amplify each other’s voices, and remind the world that recovery is not just possible—it’s powerful. At Sober Not Subtle, we believe in you, and we’re honored to be part of this journey with you.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year filled with recovery, growth, healing, and the courage to keep going, no matter what.
Loud, Proud, and Never Subtle!
With love and gratitude,
Sober Not Subtle
